My Major & Career Goals
In high school, I was not completely sure where I wanted to go for college, but I always knew I wanted to study Exercise Science. My decision mainly came down to whether I wanted to stay close to home or leave, and what environment I thought would help me grow the most. That led me to IU Indianapolis, where I am currently part of the School of Health and Human Sciences.
My goal after undergrad is to attend physical therapy school and become a physical therapist. I am especially interested in working with athletes and helping them recover from injuries, as well as prevent them in the first place. I like the idea of being part of the process that gets someone back to doing what they love.
This interest comes from my own experience as an athlete. I dealt with knee issues throughout my athletic career and went through physical therapy multiple times. Being on the patient side gave me a real understanding of the rehab process and showed me how important good care, communication, and consistency are. That experience is what really pushed me toward wanting to do the same for others.
